![]() ![]() The piano is from GPO (the viola may be a bit out of your price range, however, it's from Xsamples). In other words, this recording is ONLY the score, as printed by the publisher. Here is a sample recording of a score, played by Finale, with no MIDI tweaking. You just need to be able to tell HumanPlayback exactly what you want. You don't need to be able to tweak MIDI to get GPO to sound good. If you can find out whether or not PM allows for this, then I can tell you that with the ability to make invisible articulations or expressions, playback becomes VERY expressive and GPO is a fine investment at that point. One feature I don't know if PM has is making invisible articulations and expressions. You still need to make the score expressive. Just plunking notes on a page is going to sound like crap. ![]() This means it will play back your score as written.įor GPO playback, it requires the scre to be very detailed - lots of articulations, slurs, phrasings, dynamics, etc. However, if it is as integrated as it is in Finale, then it will playback using GPO and HumanPlayback (which it says comes with PM 2010). PrintMusic 2004, 20, Windows XP Pro, Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS, P4 2.6 GHz + 1 GBĪccording to the Products page, PrintMusic 2010 supports all 3rd party VSTs. For me, PM is adequate for what I do, so I've stuck with it, even though (like you) I dream about better sounds. If your application justifies the cost and effort of GPO then it justifies the cost of Finale if not, then one has to be content with what is appropriate. Personally I think it would be like shoehorning a big V8 engine into a small car - unbalanced and ineffective. Your choice is between paying cash for Finale or paying in your own time to get it to work. ![]() To make it work well, you would have to export midi from PM, then use a good sequencer to edit the midi and feed it to the GPO player. I think that the main problem you are going to find is that Finale adjusts its midi output in lots of ways to make GPO work correctly and sound good since PM is not aware of GPO, you would just be using it like any other external midi synthesizer which means that you would have to tweak things by hand (and PM doesn't let you work directly with midi anyway). * PowerSpec B307 Pentium Dual-core 2.70GHz Windows 7 Professional MakeMusic Forum > Public Forums > Finale - Windows - FORUM HAS MOVED! > Garritan Personal Orchestrta with PrintMusic?Ĭurious if anyone is using Garritan Personal Orchestra with PrintMusic (especially PM 2010), particularly on Windows 7? I am currently using PrintMusic and would absolutely love to make use of GPO, but I definitely cannot justify the expense of Finale itself.įor those who are using GPO and PM (2010), how easy or difficult is it to get GPO sounds from PM? This is my main concern as I have been having all sorts of issues getting VSTi plugins to work properly, if it all. ![]()
